Sensor manufacturer OmniVision has announced the OV48C, a new 48-megapixel image sensor designed with flagship smartphones in mind. The 1/1.3" OV48C is built on OmniVision's PureCel Plus stacked die technology, which uses a Buried Color Filter Array (BCFA), Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) and a composite metal grid (CMG) technology.
